Hi @Csajazi6543 and welcome to the forums!

I am sorry about what happened to your phone. It is mentioned on this thread that it is not waterproof, but is water resistant. Check: https://uk.community.huawei.com/p30-series-30/water-inside-the-p30-pro-camera-5583#post31163

Your best course of action would be to contact Huawei service centre (08000 886 700) and arrange your phone to be collected for repairs. If your phone is not within their repair obligations, they will contact you with the total cost for the repair.
Hopefully you have your data from the phone with you all backed up, as Huawei does not retrieve data nor keep or transfer any of it to a new replacement device when provided.

Hope this helps!

Hi everyone

I have/had a Mate 20 Pro which only 6 weeks old. Currently it is half dead as the camera is broken, has charging issues and the display sometimes flickers green.
All of that started withing 48hrs after the phone came into contact with water.
I had it in my pocket and had to get my toddler and the 6y old out of the pool because they were fighting too much - depth of the pool was a little over 4ft, so a little over 1.2m.
So the phone being in my pocket means that it was barely submerged, maybe 20 to 30cm for less than a minute.

@drhouse :
The phone has an IP68 and IEC 60529 rating (https://consumer.huawei.com/en/phones/mate20-pro/specs/) which means it has the highest IP approval for dust and water.

Here is a link:
http://www.dsmt.com/resources/ip-rating-chart/
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code

This means it is designed to withstand full submersion in at least 1m deep water for at least 30 minutes.

So saying it is not waterproof but only water resistant is a technicality which is true but it also is suggestive to the phone not made to be submerged - which is wrong.
The way you put it the phone would have to be rated IP 64 or 65, so primarily splash resistant.

The Mate 20 Pro, in my above described, scenario should have easily withstand the water. Heck even an IP67 phone shouldn't haven been broken by that.

I am hugely disappointed that the phone is now basically useless and I will send it in for repair or a new one as it definitely should have been able to withstand the water.
Hello Guys, anybody had luck with Repair center for water damage?
They asked me to pay 1143 pounds to have the phone repaired as they said for water infiltration warranty is void....... Very disappointed!
I do believe that rate this phone as ip68 is a fraud!
