Hi all.

This is for a fairly old device (P8), but my friend's phone always turns on the location every time she opens the camera. Also, there's a pop-up telling her "to improve location, please accept...". Whether she accepts or declines, that pop-up appears every single time she opens the camera.

Any idea on how to get rid of that? The location shouldn't really be needed to take photos, plus accepting should prevent the pop-up from appearing the next time.

Maybe it's too old, but there must be a way to fix it.

Thanks in advance!

Hi ManOfTomorrow,

The location can be toggled to permanently off via the settings on the camera (swipe from right to left ) and the settings within gallery (from the gallery > more > settings). The phone is prompting for this due to the features it has for highlights and sorting pictures by location.
With these both disabled this function will no longer be available for pictures take without location tag.
Hope you find this helpful and as always if you need any further assistance please feel free to contact us via forum or via mail, chat or hotline at https://consumer.huawei.com/

Best wishes,
Max
