P30 Pro VOG L29 Front camera is not working

Good day my friends! How are y'all? Hope all is well.

I am having a problem with my P30 Pro VOG L29 front camera. When I first got the phone everything is working just fine. Until I started to notice the issue with the camera app. The front camera before was freezing only. It freezes everytime I switch from back camera to front camera. It happens with main camera application and also with third party applications. It got worse now because it is totally not working anymore. Everytime I switch to front camera it will just bring me to my home screen. Front camera option on third party app camera is also not showing anymore.

I have done some troubleshooting steps already such as force closing the camera app, clearing data and cache of camera app, resetting to default settings of camera app, and I have done hard reset already but unluckily the problem still exists.

Can somebody tell me what is the best thing to do though I am thinking to bring this phone to service centre hoping they could do something to fix this or maybe they should give me a replacement since I have warranty on the device.

there is a new solution to that issue here: https://uk.community.huawei.com/ask-questions-about-the-camera-on-your-device-26/huawei-p30-pro-camera-crashes-5019#post29880

Try boot your P30 to safe mode:
- Power off the device.
- Power it back on.
- Once you see the Huawei animation on the screen press and hold Volume Down button.
- You can see safe mode at the bottom left corner once the device finishes booting.
- Now that the device has started on safe mode, charge it and see if there’s a difference.

Don’t forget: safe mode blocks third party apps but it won’t tell you which of them is the real cause. If you think that there’s a rogue third party app in the system, you must identify it. Here’s what you need to do exactly:
- Boot to safe mode.
- Check for the problem.
- Once you’ve confirmed that a third party app is to blame, you can start uninstalling apps individually. We suggest that you begin with the most recent ones you added.
- After you uninstall an app, restart the phone to normal mode and check for the problem.
- If your Huawei P30 is still problematic, repeat steps 1-4.

If this doesn't solve your problem, you can try to read up this url link to see if any other fixes can help you.. https://thedroidguy.com/2019/06/fix-camera-failed-error-on-huawei-p30-1102115

Hope this helps!

Hey Eggykolero,

Sorry to see that you are still having these issues. 😞 I would recommend having the device inspected by one of our engineers at the service center. You can arrange the service booking via mail chat or hotline via https://consumer.huawei.com/uk/support/ (UK only).
I have done putting my phone on safe mode. I can't see any apps there and I can't use even the camera because it is simply not there. I have done clearing data and cache of the camera app and I have done factory/hard reset already. I guess I need to visit one of the service centres now.
