HiSuite stopped working

Since I updated to HiSuite 9.1, the backup function no longer works. It simply tells me I have to "download and install the latest Huawei Backup application from Google play". The latest version available on GP was updated 5 May 2019, no updates appear in GP. Using Mate20 Pro

Thereafter, you need to enable HDB on your huawei smartphone.

1. Go to Settings > Advanced settings .
2. In Advanced settings , touch Security , and then turn on Allow HiSuite to use HDB . ...
3. Go to Settings > Apps > HiSuite . ...
4. Go to Settings > About Phone . ...
5. Go back to Settings , touch the newly displayed Developer options , and turn on USB debugging click here for HiSuite Phone Backup And Restore Guide

None of this is correct. I'm already using latest version of HiSuite. HBD is already enabled. USB debugging is already enabled. The menu paths you state are incorrect. Same error message

I had installed this latest version of HiSuite not from Google Play.. but from https://huaweiadvices.com/download-huawei-hisuite/ also the steps I had typed to enable HDB from the Huawei phone is what I followed and it worked very well for me. That's why I shared this information.

Don't understand your blanket None of this is correct and The menu paths you state are incorrect . Don't understand why you get same error message.

That is the version I'm already using on the PC. The phone already connects to this as normal, the error message is to update Huawei Backup - HiSuite itself isn't an app that is required to be installed on the phone.

Turns out this is yet another known problem with Huawei. Crappy calendar functionality. Useless "backup" options. Blurry camera. I'm genuinely sorry I tried Huawei and have gone to Samsung until they can do something properly

OK this worked - thanks. No idea why this wasn't available to update in Play Store
