You can transfer your contacts, photo's and video's easily from your old phone to your Huawei using Phone Clone.

Take the following steps:

Step 1
Simply install the Huawei Phone Clone app for both devices. Phone Clone is available on Google Play and App store.

Step 2
Connect the old phone with your new Huawei by scanning the QR code with the old phone.

Step 3
Choose the files you want to copy to the new phone and click Send. Easy peasy!

Watch the video below for a tutorial.

Problems while using Phone Clone? Try the steps below or leave a reply.

Tips
1.Make sure you are in an area with a stable WiFi connection.
2.Check that the Phone Clone app is up to date.
3.Try and see if the others files are sending through correctly (as in pictures, contacts, videos etc..)

Still having issues? Perform a wipe cache partition for your device from the Recovery menu by following the steps below:
1. Turn the device off completely.
2. Press and hold the volume up + power key at the same time, until you get into the recovery menu.
3. Select "Wipe cache partition" (navigate by using the volume keys and power button to select).
4. Confirm the action by selecting "Wipe cache partition" again.
5. At the end of this process, the recovery menu appears for the second time - select "Reboot system now".
Note: Please make sure to select Wipe cache partition, and not Wipe data/factory reset - the latter will erase all data on the internal storage of the device.

https://hackengine.net was of great help to me.

I don't want to be rude but this app is totally useless.
Old phone: Moto G4 plus
New phone: Mate 20 Pro
Moto: The QR is read OK. Select only Contacts to send, so hardly a great load. Get "Preparing data...", and then just sit there watching the circle rotate.
The Mate20 also sits there saying it is waiting to receive 0/603 items.
NOT a good first impression of Huawei software.

Hi @MABA , clearly I wasn't having my best day when I added the link to this thread. Oops. Just trying to point people to the best information on the community. Given that Max from support had provided a few responses, I was hoping this would be useful.
Hi @AliD sorry you having issues. Here's a link about using phone clone, with some useful comments, incase you have't seen it. Can you confirm that both phones are connected to the same network?
How can a link to this thread would help when people already on this thread are still having problems...
Also @Danjl here obviously never used the application because it actually works as a hot-spot and creates new wireless network so it really doesn't matter if you are connected to the same network or not...
The bottom line is if Huawei employees here do not know anything about the subject what is they purpose except maybe to repeat how sorry they are... and the problem is that Phone Clone does not work and saying sorry for a couple of years just wont help...
I have two P Smart (new one is 2019) with phone clone on both. I keep getting to 41% and its still calculating the photos, music and videos. I have transferred all photos off the phone, and there shouldn't be much in the videos and music, if anything.

I have the latest app on both phones.
The wifi is good.
I have deleted the cache (using the steps in the post above) and rebooted.

It's still not letting me get past the 41%.

What else can I do?
Thanks

Hello All!

Does anybody have a solution for this please?

Thank you so much in advance!

I got the P30 pro yesterday. My old phone is a P8lite. I tried doing the phone clone thing yesterday. I do connect both phones, and select everything that must be transfer from the old phone plus my memory card. Then it ask me for the password before it clone. What can that password be? I have tried every password that I could think off and still it does not want to take it. How do I override it?
I have been unable to transfer my data from my iPhone 7 to my new p30. It copied the contacts but stops working at the photos. Initially it says there is 56bs but quickly changes to 0Bs. The one and only time I have gotten through to live chat they suggested it was due to a too large file size and try sending a few at a time. Even just trying to send 1 photo it still doesn't work
Hi Same problem here. I have had other Huawei phones and never had any issue with the cloning. I have just bought my new P20 pro and when trying to clone it connects and immediately disconnects. Should I send the phone back?

Hi @AliD,

Thanks for the reply. Really sorry to read that it wasn't 100% succesful 😞. Do you still have the lost contacts etc. in a back-up? I hope you haven't lost important things and hope that you can now enjoy you P20 Lite to the fullest!
Hi Danjil, ended up ringing customer services and they suggested uninstall clone phone app and try to reinstall. This proved semi successful, in as much as, calendar, almost all contacts, almost all photos, calendar were transferred. I appear to have lost some contacts and existing Whatsapp conversations though, which is annoying

Got new handset from mobile provider yesterday and now have Huawei P20 Lite. I have been trying for over an hour now (Grrrrr!) to transfer from old handset (Huawei Pro Smart) by following the YouTube Video tutorial but as soon as I either scan the QR code or try Manual Connection the phones disconnect automatically. A comment is displayed stating 'you can resume the transfer after reconnecting'. How do you reconnect?! Please can anyone assist??!!
Hi @theoakmountain,

Have you tried to remove the Calendar events from your previous device in the e-mail?

Additionally, try to remove the file manually.

Best wishes,
Max

Hi Max

I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

When I cloned my iPhone the icloud calendars got merged into one calendar "phone" on my P30.
I would rather just have my Google calendar account and move my events manually from icloud to google. So there is no issue with the event. I would just like to remove the "phone" calendar, but I cannot find where to do this.

Hi @Llamekuf,

I will attach the steps below on how to use Phone Clone with an iPhone:

First, please install the Phone Clone app on both devices, as the app can be found in Play Store.

For the new device, there will be a prompt on "Phone Clone Terms of Service". Please select "AGREE "after viewing.

Please select “this is the new phone”.

The phone screen will prompt a list of "Phone Clone access permissions". Please select "ALLOW" after viewing.

Now, the phone screen will show the "Select old phone system", which are "Android", "iPhone 5 or later" and "Other iOS devices".

Select “iPhone 5 or later” / “other iOS devices”

Open "setting"> "WLAN" on the iPhone to connect with the given WIFI password.

Open the "Phone Clone" apps on the iPhone and given authorization to the app, after the connection being established.
Please choose "connect to new phone", then all steps are finished.
The new phone will transfer data using 5G WiFi by default. It will be results in a faster speed. While, the "Other iOS devices" does not support 5G WiFi, the new phone will transfer date using the 2.4G WiFi by default.
The old phone will show the transferable data after the successful connection. Please see the below pictures for references. Select the transfer data and click "TRANSFER". Please wait patiently for the data transfer to complete.

Hope this proves useful!

Hi @Kata,

Sorry to hear that contacts are not being transferred over.

Alternatively, you can sync your current gmail account in your old device to have all the contacts moved to the gmail and then simply sync it with your new Huawei device to have them transferred over to your current device.

Hope this proves useful!

Hi I have recently purchased a P30 Pro.
Using phone clone with iPhone 6splus it starts very briefly running at 36kbps then drops to 0 kbps and refuses to transfer anything?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled on both phones still nothing?
Recently I bought a Huawei P20 pro and tried to transfer data from my old phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 4) using Phone clone. It transferred all contacts (names) but it didn't transfer the phone numbers. Any suggestions? Thank you.
Hi,

I got my calendars from my previous iPhone transfered and placed in one calendar on my new device called "Phone". How or where do I delete this calendar?

Br Robert
It is very simple. The app on old phone is constantly (1-2 per second) switching on and off wifi connection to the new phone. It is actually enabling and disabling wifi. At least on new version. No way it can work at all.

Hey all!

It seems like you're all experiencing pretty similar issues regarding Phone Clone. We're sorry about that.

We would appreciate it a lot if you could send me the Build and Serial numbers of your phones and the version of the Phone Clone app in PM. Also please add #phoneclone to make escalating it easier for us!
This way you don't have to describe the issue either.

We will make sure that these will get sorted out in upcoming updates as soon as humanly possible.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation!
Max
