Good to have you here! In this topic you find useful tips on how to use the community.

Why join the community?
Join the community if you are a Huawei user, or planning on becoming a Huawei user. You will be able to create a topic to get help, reply to other posts to help, discuss with other Huawei enthusiasts and share experiences. Join in on the fun! This community is all about sharing knowledge! And remember, the Huawei experts are always there to help you to unlock the full potential of your device.

Before you start: read the Community Guidelines and these five tips for a great start on the community!

Get started:

How to create an account
Simply create an account by selecting the
loginlink in the upper right corner. Once you have your account set up you can start participating in the community.

Please use the search engine
If you have a question, please use the search function on the main page first to see if your question is being discussed in an already existing topic. Make sure we do not have double topics.

How to start a new thread
First, you will have to select the correct category your question is related to.
  • When your question is regarding smartphones, then start a new topic in this subforum.
  • Should your question be regarding other devices then start a new topic in this subforum.
  • And if you are having questions about software, then start a new topic in this subforum.
  • If you should be unsure about this, simply start a new topic in the Ask a question subforum.
Once you are in the right Category and Board, you can simply click on "Create topic" next to your profile picture:

Choose if your topic is a question or a conversation
Decide if your topic is a question or a conversation. A conversation is a normal discussion topic. If you make your topic a question, you can mark a reply from another user as the answer. This will help other users who are having the same question to find the solution quicker.

Create a title
Now you will have to define a titel for your topic - choose a title which is short but descriptive. It should summarize what your topic is about: include the name of the product or the service, if applicable. This way other users can see directly if they are able to help you.

Describe what your topic is about
Describe your issue as detailed as possible. Other users can help you better when they know what you are trying to do (and where you do not get any further). Please don't share any private information (Email address, phone number, etc.), as all this information will be shared in public.

Please let others know:
  • What the problem is
  • What type of device you are using
  • What software version
  • Steps already taken
  • Other relevant information
Add tags
If possible, add tags which are describing your topic in keywords. This will help other users to find your topic a lot quicker.

How to edit your own post
If you made a mistake while writing your post, or if you simply want to add more information, then you can do this by following these steps:

Please go to the post which you would like to change. Hover your mouse over the three dots on the right bottom corner, and click on "Edit":

Note:When you are new to the community, the time in which you can edit a post is limited to 60 minutes. Users with a higher rank have no limit for editing their posts. Should there be private information in your post which you would like to see removed, please report the topic to a Moderator.

How to attach images and videos to your post
Upload imagesYou can upload images from your pc to your post by clicking on the small camera icon in the text editor. All common file formats for images are supported (.png, .jpg, .gif)

After a successful upload, you can either leave the image in the attachment, or you can choose to embed it into your post. To do so, simply enter it at the part of the post where you would like to have the image embedded.

Embed videosAdding videos to your post can be done by clicking on the film roll button. You can add videos from Youtube, Vimeo and Dailymotion.

Note:Please paste the original video url, not e.g. the url for embedding videos.

After the video has been added, you can choose to keep the video as an attachment, or to embed it into your post. For embedding, please go with the cursor to the place of your text where you would like to present the video, and click on "place in text".

How to report inappropriate content
Should you come across a topic or a comment which you think needs to be reported, then please click on the three dots on the bottom right of a post, and click on "Flag".

Cases in which topics or comments should be reported:
  • Spam
  • Advertisement
  • Soliciting
  • Harassment
  • Private information (Email address, phone number, IMEI etc.)
  • Any other content which is in conflict with our Terms and Conditions an the Community Guidelines.
If you should be uncertain whether or not you should report a topic or a comment, then please report it anyways. A Moderator will check your report as soon as possible and will decide further steps, if necessary.

How to change profile settings
You can find the Settings page on your profile. On this page, you can change your settings.

How to unsubscribe from topics and subforums
You've probably noticed that you receive an email-notification when someone replies in a topic which you have started / been active in. This is a tutorial to explain how to turn off these notifications.

General settings for notifications

You receive notifications of topics or subforums which you have selected as Favorites. Topics you have started are set as Favorites by default, but you can change this in the settings (add link to settings page) on your Profile page:
(insert screenshot of the settings page, highlight the disable option)
Note:This will
notunsubscribe you when you have subscribed to an entire subforum. Should you receive notifications for new topics in a specific subforum, then you will have to visit this subforum and click on "unsubscribe" in the top right corner in the subforum overview.

(add screenshot of the button)
Unsubscribe to specific topics

You can also do this for an individual topic by clicking the Subscribe button at the bottom of the post. It stays grey to indicate that you're not subscribed to that topic:

How to give likes
Use the like-button to show someone that you like their contribution.

What is a Huaweian? A Huawei Wonder? A support-team member?
A Huaweian is a Huawei Employee. They are not moderators. They help out with various subjects. Such as: devices, software, marketing, etc.

The Huawei Wonders are the most active, helpful and dedicated people in the Huawei community. We wouldn’t be here without them!

A Support-team member is a Huawei employee that works on this community. They make sure everyone follows the community guidelines and make sure all questions are answered. They have the privileges to delete, merge, move and split posts and threads. They manage the day-to-day affairs on the community.

What are Badges
The badges are here to empower users to help each other. Holding a badge shows that you have contributed to the community. Most of the badges are activity badges. How you can earn a badge will be a secret. Just stay active, help each other and see what happens!

Off-topic Category
The community also has an off-topic Category. Here you can share whatever you like: photographs, tip tops, weekend plans etc. Have fun!

Leave a comment if you have any other questions! 😄

Hi @sany

I'd say the best way is to contribute, show us why you deserve to be a Wonder. Be helpful and respectful but most importantly show you enjoy being a part of this community.

Thanks @Tony, at least now it is clear as in the welcome mail it was mentioned about 'Huawei Wonder' but in the forums there were no further details. Wrote to @Amy who also never responded.

Amy and the rest of the team look for members who contribute more than others, we are still a very young community so if you stand out you may one day get asked to join 😊
Userlevel 2
True but only if they communicate we will know what is what. It was only discouraging for a new user like me to see no response while I see her active elsewhere. By all this I know she will get more and more offended while I don't really intend to do this.
Is this the only community for Huawei globally?

Hi Sany,

I think you wrote to the Huawei UK-team account. We don't really respond to that account as it's against community guidelines to send a pm to a moderator without them asking you to. But if you are looking for more info on becoming a Huawei Wonder, please read this topic on how you can join the Huawei Wonder team! 🙂

Also, we are not a global community, we are focussed on the UK market, but indeed everyone is welcome to join!

Hi @Amy, thanks for clarifying. I wrote there based on the welcome message in the inbox in my profile.

Are you aware of a global community for Huawei. As far as I searched this is the only official community I guess. I am assuming when you say 'official' Huawei is part of establishing this. Therefore one of you might know if there is one global version that exists, just to clarify!?

Thanks again

Hi Sany,

Some countries have their own community but there isn't a global community. 🙂

I've seen several requests from users across the forums for all Huawei wearables to allow leather data to be exported and imported to other apps. It is important to people to be able to compare past, present a future data to see improvements or problems in their health.
This request cuts across all forums. The health data should belong to the owners not Huawei. When will Huawei address this problem globally across the wearables range?
Specific answers and timelines would be preferable.

Hi Skjerpdeg,

Thank you for your feedback. There is long thread about this. And I noticed that you already replied in that thread. Please use that thread as the main thread on that subject. I will ask our support team to reply as soon as possible.

Thanks for the quick reply Amy.
I'll in anticipation but I see some people have been waiting for over a year.

Hello Amy,
I have 2 questions I hope you can help with please.
1. Is there a way to submit new ideas to the design team? I have a few to submit.
2. When is the support team likely to reply to my previous question about exporting data?
I plan to provide review of the band 3 Pro on Amazon this weekend. I plan to be honest about the software failings but it would be better if I hear from the support team first.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Skjerpdeg,

1, Are these new ideas for the Watch GT design? Or other designs? 2.For now, it takes a few days before the support team replies in a thread. Please contact the support team directly.
Userlevel 2
Hello Amy,
Thanks for the quick reply.
The new ideas are aimed at the band 3 Pro but would be applicable for the watch GT as well.

Hi @Skjerpdeg,

Happy to hear that you are interested in one of our devices!

In regards to your inquiry, we are aware of the feedback provided by you personally and others provided.
I can assure you that it was past further to the appropriate departments and they will inquire further so you and others can have the best experience that you expect from our devices.
As you can imagine, the development process is rather complex, therefore we can not provide an accurate time frame.

Please stay tuned with our latest news so you can be up to date with Huawei! 😀
Cheers,
Max
