London, September 19, 2019-Huawei has unveiled its next generation smartwatch, HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 46mm and 42mm series, powered by the firm’s proprietary Kirin A1 chip. Delivering an upgraded user experience and unrivalled battery life due to the chip’s ultra-low power consumption capability, WATCH GT 2 pushes the boundaries of what is expected from a wearable. The HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 is also Huawei’s first smartwatch with an all-in-one 3D glass screen, creating a wider, boundless display. Moreover, the new smartwatch delivers more sports modes with richer programs, as well as adding Bluetooth calling and music playback functionalities, enhancing comprehensive health and fitness monitoring and management capabilities, ultimately offering greater care in meticulous detail to those who love sport and the pursuit of quality of life.

Proprietary Kirin A1 chipset supports unrivalled battery life

The previous generation HUAWEI WATCH GT was well loved by users because of its impressive battery life. HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 goes in further, being equipped with Huawei’s proprietary Kirin A1 chipset to further improve on battery life. The Kirin A1 chipset integrates an advanced Bluetooth processing unit, a powerful audio processing unit, an ultra-low power consumption application processor and a separate power management unit. The application processor uses the Cortex-M7 processor to achieve ultra-low power consumption of 10uA/MHz, which is far below the industry average of 30uA/MHZ. The perfect combination of high performance and efficient power consumption makes it possible for HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 to deliver robust usage and even longer battery life.

In daily use, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 46mm series can operate continuously for up to two weeks, with both the intelligent heart rate monitor and call notification functions on and weekly usage of up to 30 minutes of Bluetooth calls; up to 30 minutes of music playback; up to 90 minutes of exercise and using the scientific sleep mode at night. In the classic mode, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 42mm series can operate continuously for up to one week. Both series of watches have greatly improved battery life in the GPS tracked sports mode. The 46mm series achieves battery life of 30 hours under the GPS tracked sports mode, while the 42mm series reaches 15 hours.*

All-in-one 3D glass design for expansive display experience

Classic design never goes out of style. Inheriting the classic look from the previous generation, HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 further upgraded the aesthetics with a full-screen and borderless design. The all-in-one 3D glass surface allows for a wider look and feel. The dial of the 46mm series adopts beveled sculpting and gemstone processing techniques to create 3D curved glass and applies individual carving to create concave spots on the dial for a more vivid look. Treated with multiple processes, the curved dial of the 42mm series is only 9.4mm thin and decorated with an extremely thin, fashionable metal frame.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 46mm series is also equipped with a 1.39-inch AMOLED HD precision touch screen with display resolution of 454 x 454 pixels, wider colour gamut, and ultra-thin design that is superior to LCD screens, achieving fuller screen colour and higher contrast. The screen design is modern and artistic, suitable for people who pursue the finer things in life and speaks to the simple, exquisite design philosophy that is in vogue nowadays.

New professional sports monitoring creates a richer smartwatch experience

Sports enthusiasts ask for professional sports data monitoring and all-around experience from their smartwatches. The HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 46mm series connects with Huawei mobile phone Bluetooth and supports Bluetooth calls at up to 150 meters. The watch also supports phonebook functionality so you can save friends’ contact information on your watch and easily look them up. At the same time, the watch comes with large storage capacity, housing up to 500 mp3 songs. You can easily manage and enjoy music while exercising.

In the sports mode, HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 is compatible with 15 sports, including eight outdoor sports (running, walking, climbing, hiking, trail running, cycling, open water, triathlon) and seven indoor sports (walking, running, cycling, swimming pool, free training, elliptical machine, rowing machine). For these 15 sports modes, the watch provides full-scale monitoring of approximately 190 types of data. The watch provides targeted pre-exercise data analysis for different sports, data recording analysis during the exercise and professional advice afterwards. It is like having a personal intelligent sports coach to make your exercise safer and better.

Comprehensive health management for your everyday care

In the field of intelligent wearables, Huawei is committed to helping consumers better manage their own health. Leveraging advanced intelligent algorithms, Huawei is an industry leader in health management.

In terms of heart rate monitoring, HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 helps monitor bradycardia and heart failure. Unless in the sports mode, the user will be notified if heart rate is above 100 bpm or below 50 bpm for more than 10 minutes. Users can also view the data in the Huawei Sports and Health App to keep an eye on your health in real time.

In addition to heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring is another function that users care about. Poor quality sleep has become a problem for many. HUAWEI TruSleep™ 2.0 monitors sleep quality, real-time heart rate, sleep breathing quality and uses big data analysis to rate sleep quality. It combines Huawei AI technology to accurately analyze sleep problems and provides sleep improvement suggestions, as well as personalised sleep services and reports to help users improve sleep quality.

HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 also comes with self-developed HUAWEI TruRelax™ technology, which helps users relieve stress by recording HRV (heart rate variability) values and providing feedback on the user's stress index. In addition, it also has a sedentary alert, which reminds the user to stand up and move around after a certain period of time. On special occasions, the alert can be turned off. You can also record the number of steps you take each day, calories burned, and the number of times you stand up. HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 provides consumers with all-day physical status information to help them develop healthy living habits and lifestyles.

The release of HUAWEI WATCH GT 2 marks another big improvement in helping users improve their quality of life. The latest watch uses innovation to address user demand, promotes healthy living and brings all-round wearable experience to users.

Huawei - Forget it. I don't trust you.

I pity the poor souls who buy this expecting a decent fitness tracker. It syncs using Huawei health so all the original GT bugs will still be there. Double step count from watch and phone, no BMR, no Strava, My fitness Pal doesn't work. The list could go on

Everything is nice but only to specifications. If the problems with the functions and the lack of support are the same as GT1 ...., it is not worth the attention.

Now what? Throwing away GT1 and giving money to GT2?

hardware does not come alone or work without software.
in this case it's the watch OS and the companion Health app
there are major issues that needs to be addressed ASAP on the Health app.

No proper altimeter, no floor count, no stress measurement, no custom watch faces, no GPX/FIT/TCX export, no sync to 3rd party apps, no workout sync to Apple Health, no proper iOS Huawei Health app (2 major versions behind Android)

I don't care if in China it works, you are launching a global product, in the middle of Europe (Munich) and you simply cannot launch (AGAIN) a half-baked, half-assed software ecosystem with a (great, to be fair) hardware product!!!!!

Dont buy. Wearing the Watch GT Active.

No support for own watchfaces. Here in the forum it possible with a china id and somit like this ****. Not watchfaces fpr normal Users outside of china.

That new 3D glass design sucks, 1st gen looked so much better.

Still no improvement about notifications, still a big piece of ****. So happy that i don't have it anymore.

Does it sync with Strava?
Also, there doesn't seem to be any mention of FirstBeat metrics. Are you still using FirstBeat with this watch?

This 100%. The watch is not the issue it's Huawei Health. I can not understand why they do not see this or even care. As a fitness tracker it's useless, it's not a smart watch either.

Ive come to the conclusion the only serious fitness tracker watch combo is an Apple Watch. Huawei could learn so much from Apple

What team is this? The ones that have done bugger all with our previous comments and requests? Cut the **** - the word is out that huawei are milking customers. The message that some "department" is listening to our comments is an insult to our intelligence. It'd be better to say nothing than to lie to us.

Everytime I read this type of reply, I have the feeling it's a bot with another automated reply.

Completely empty, with the single purpose of blindfold the silly customer for another couple of weeks.

I've been a Huawei customer for some years now, but the last few months, since I've bought the GT and started reading this forum, have made my opinion from this company come from top to below bottom level in a few heart beats.

Even the Health app, at least here in Portugal, with the latest v10 update is more fubared than ever. Right now, even the stock watchfaces do not work, since the server connection cannot be attained!

Weather forecast? Non existant, besides actual weather. Stress meter and other functionalities - only for Chinese customers. WTF!!!?

Huawei, start looking towards your customers right now, besides looking only towards your pockets!!

Support for this forum behaves as bots, indeed.

btw. Insolence ... Huawei has the premiere of a new watch in Europe. And then they ignore Europe in updates and new features.

I totally agree with you and also, we are Huawei's customers by using other products as well. Especially now that Huawei is facing all these issues with US Government, the only way to be successful is by supporting their customers. The people that spend their money buying their products. Noone should buy a new Huawei product if the company does not show respect. They sold milions Watch GT watches. They earned a lot of money by this product and they are at least ignorant keeping millions of their customers unhappy. This is a price not only Huawei but any company such disrespectful will pay in the long run.

gt2 is the same as gt - two more functions: (calling and audio control). Besides - I'm sure - the same errors and limitations: watch faces for Chinese users, stress function for Chinese users, bluetooth cannot be turned off, no weather for the next days, poor vibration, limited health app, etc ... And most importantly - no Huawei support (proof of reading this forum).

Wow, Ok, so the 'bot' insults are pretty hurtful. I guess when moderating this platform (5,110 Topics 35,509 Replies 12,292 Members) similar responses might come across as robotic. It's definitely not the intention. There's only so many ways you can say similar things as a moderator. What I can say is that following the announcement of the Watch GT2 last week, we've seen more responses and questions from community members about the Watch GT and concerns about outstanding bugs, issues etc. This morning I've flagged this with the digital marketing team to see if we can get a response from someone closer to the Watch GT development.

So I guess, what I'm saying is "thanks everyone with for your comments, questions and feedback, which I will pass onto the team" 🤔😬😭

This topic is 10 months old. Be serious please. Have a nice day.

Anyway. Just saw a review video of GT2, the guy scroll Health App till the bottom and still no GPS export button. 😂 The graphics shown on the new watch is the same old of GT1, with 2 more useless function: call (so everyone can listen you fight with your girlfriend) and music (can Bluetooth hang some wireless headphones or just pump volume in the speaker?). I can bet a fish dinner, in a luxury restaurant, that Huawei keep the same sad way to send notifications that avoid whatsapp to send messages in the right way.

Another big shot from Huawei 😂😂😂😂
So does this mean you're never going to improve the GT or even give us a custom watch store properly then?

Dnjil took the time to reply to me an I appreciate this. He also offered to answer my questions, but they haven't really been answered.

@Danjl...... What have the technical departments replied to you so far? These topics have rumbling on for months now. If they're ignoring you, please tell us so. As it stands at the moment, youre making it seem that you are part of the poor customer service. I'm particularly interested in their response e re watch faces and strava integration.

As I see it the main crunch is European customers are treated differently, this is far removed and not the case with other providers for example Fitbit or Apple

Can we please have-:
1.The stress option
2. More sports profiles
3. Be treated the same as everyone else
4. Does Huawei still intend to support and improve the Gt version of its watch?

I have a gt Elegant and still don't know if we are owed an update.

considering the first watch gt did and does NOT have advertised stress functions at launch, or even now on the official website, watch gt2 DOES have stress marketed (as TruRelax), therefore i suspect they will ship with the function enabled...otherwise they can prepare for a mass lawsuit in the EU for false marketing.
