Huawei's first 5G smartphone, the Mate 20 X (5G), is out today on some markets, such as Italy or the UK.

While many of us still have no access to a 5G network *cries in Brussels*, carriers in some countries, such as UK, Spain, Switzerland or Italy, have already rolled out and activated 5G networks in various cities, such as Vodafone in the UK, their network being available in 15 different cities so far.

Huawei's Mate 20 X (5G) is equipped with the market-leading 7nm Kirin 980, coupled with HiSilicon's Balong 5000, the world's first 7nm 5G chipset, supporting both standalone and non-standalone network architectures (standalone=built entirely around 5G, non-standalone built on top of existing 4G LTE infraestructure).

The Mate 20 X (5G) is also a step ahead of the competition, being the only 5G smartphone supporting dual-SIM.

Specs-wise, the Mate 20 X (5G) is slightly different to the variant launched in October/November 2018. This variant still sports a massive 7.2 inches display, being excellent for consuming media & playing games, as well as working on various documents, but comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, instead of 6GB/128GB.

The Mate 20 X (5G) also has a smaller battery, 4200mAh, down from 5000mAh, but comes with 40W SuperCharge. The inclusion of the Balong 5000 and the extra antennas also means the headphone jack is gone.

The rest of the specs remain the same, with one of the best smartphone cameras currently available on the market (40MP+20MP+8MP, same as Mate 20 Pro), GPU Turbo 3.0, dual-SIM support or SIM+Nano Memory, up to 256GB, and support for the M-Pen (sold separately). The device launches in Emerald Green and with EMUI9.1, and should be available at most UK carriers such as Three, Carphone Warehouse or Sky Mobile. Sellers such as Clove UK already have it up for pre-order, shipping in some days. Depending on the seller, the price varies, although the suggested price is 999£/1099€. Some have deals, such as Amazon Italy gifting a bluetooth speaker and FreeLace with the purchase.

So I can use a nano memory card to increase the memory further than the 256gb on this 5g model?

@Theackers yes, you can put a SIM card+a nano memory card, up to 256GB (biggest available). That would mean you would have 512GB of total storage, although keep in mind you cannot make it a single unit (so you can't put apps on the external memory). If not, you can have 2 5G SIM cards.
Thank you, very helpful 👍

The Huawei Nano Memory cards are available in 64GB/128GB/256GB versions, with the 128GB and 256GB available in Europe (on websites such as Amazon) for around 60 and 110€ respectively.
